Business Case 1

Internal Audit Business

 

Task :  To set up external audit business in Middle East.

Action :  We arranged business for a reputable accounting firm branch office in the Middle East. We contacted one licensed CPA firm in the Middle East and arranged a legal contract between the two accounting firms. Also arranged the process of setting up the Joint Venture that is legally acceptable in the Middle East. Arranged business visas for the consultants who were engaged on several contracts.

Result : The Joint Venture carried out many IFRS setup contracts of listed companies in Saudi Arabia. The IFRS setup contracts were successful and the Canadian Audit Firm made millions of dollars after taxes in profits and salaries of their staff. The assignment was carried out by the Canadian staff already working with the Canadian audit firm locally.

Data Analytics Business Case

Task :  Creating a quarterly trend dashboard that illustrates A Insurance and MGA KPI’s.

Action :  Working under A, various MGA brokers are sending in data, a dashboard was created to show a quarterly trend for all the clients and brokers showing all the KPI’s and Data Quality concerns. These KPI’s are then correlated with the automation and processing within Aviva.

Result : Creating the dashboard resulted in better relationships with brokers, better data quality, reduced discrepancies, and improved overall internal processing.

Business Case 3

Business Case for Predictive Analytics

Task :  Create a machine learning model that correlates used car process from a large dataset of vehicle attributes.

Action :  Using the provided data, we were able to create an extreme gradient boosting model that allows us to interpret the data and find patterns to create a prediction on used car pricing. The data set consisted of attributes such as drivetrain, fuel economy, make, model, vehicle age, mileage etc.. Using these attributes the model was created.

Result : The model was successfully created to show the correct pricing with an uncertainty of +- 5000 dollars. It also showed us the most influential factors that come into predicting used car pricing. It turns out that after the make and model of the vehicle, the Drivetrain was the most influential factor for non luxury brand vehicles while engine size to be the most influential for luxury brand vehicles.
